TORONTO -- Police say a 27-year-old man is facing four counts following an alleged assault over closing a window on a Toronto Transit Commission bus.

They say a 36-year-old woman who was riding on a bus on Sept. 27 in east-end Toronto (Eglinton Avenue East and Markham Road) closed a window.

They allege a man became angry that she had shut the window, spat in her face twice and then physically assaulted her.

Police say Stephen Simpson of Toronto surrendered to investigators on Sunday afternoon.

Simpson is charged with three counts of assault, and one of mischief under $5.000.

He is to appear in court on Dec. 2.
