Toronto police are investigating two serious attacks in the city's east end, one that has left a man dead and another that has left a woman clinging to life.

A 35-year-old man was fatally stabbed at about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday near Don Mills Road and the Don Valley Parkway.

Police found the victim's body in a parking lot outside an apartment building on Milepost Place. He had been stabbed several times.

The man's identity has not been released. Police say he was killed by somebody known to him.

No arrests have been made and police have not commented on a possible motive.

In a separate incident, investigators believe a love triangle has left a 22-year-old mother of  three clinging to life in hospital.

Police say a man found his partner with another man at a motel on Kingston Road and McCowan Roads early Wednesday morning.

The suspect allegedly slashed the unsuspecting man across the chest and then dragged his partner outside to his van.

The couple ended up in front of an apartment building on Birchmount Road and Eglinton Avenue, across from a police station.

She was found lying on the ground with a severe head injury.

The victim was taken to Sunnybrook hospital, where she remains in grave condition, police said.

A suspect was taken into custody. No names have been released.

Homicide detectives have been called to investigate.
