A man is dead following a serious collision at Cawthra Road and Eastgate Parkway in Mississauga Saturday, Peel EMS said.
The two vehicle collision happened around 7:20 p.m., Peel Police said.
Paramedics said two other people – a man and a woman – were transported to hospital in stable condition following the collision.
Police later said the female, who had been in the same vehicle as the deceased man, remains in hospital in unknown condition.
Police also said a male from the other vehicle fled the scene by foot, but was held nearby by a citizen until police arrived. Police said he is being charged with failing to remain at the scene of a collision.
Investigators are looking to speak with any eyewitnesses.
Both Cawthra Road and Eastgate Parkway were closed for several hours following the collision.
