A man is in critical condition after being found with multiple gunshot wounds in Mississauga this morning.

According to Peel police, a passerby discovered the man lying outside an industrial building near Matheson Boulevard and Hurontario Street at around 7 a.m. and quickly called police.

Paramedics rushed him to a trauma centre with critical injuries, where he remains.

Investigators have not identified the man nor have they released his age.

“Our forensic identification officers are on scene, they are processing the scene,” Const. Akhil Mooken said.

A black SUV associated with the victim was later towed from the scene by police.

“A full forensic examination will be conducted on that vehicle,” Mooken said. “(We will be) trying to collect all pieces of evidence that may be present.”

No arrests have been made. There was no immediate word on a possible suspect or suspects.

Police remain on scene investigating. Officers were seen collecting video surveillance from the parking lot and plaza near to where the victim was located.
