A man was rushed to hospital after being pinned underneath a vehicle following a fight at a plaza in the city’s east end Saturday evening.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene at a Tim Horton’s plaza at Victoria Park Avenue and Curlew Drive at around 7:30 p.m. They arrived to find the man pinned under a vehicle.

According to police, three men were involved in an altercation in the parking lot. One of the men was knocked to the ground while the two others fled the scene. A short time later, a car going through the drive-thru made contact with the man, pinning him.

The man was eventually freed and was rushed to hospital in critical condition, Toronto Paramedic Services said.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.

It is not yet clear if the men who were involved in the fight knew each other, police said.

No suspect description has been provided so far.
