Nearly a year after a 25-year-old was fatally shot outside of an Etobicoke school and community centre, a 23-year-old suspect has been arrested and charged.

Police were called to a shooting outside of the North Kipling Community Centre and North Kipling Junior and Middle School, in the area of Kipling and Finch Avenues, on the evening of Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013.

They found the victim, 25-year-old Neeko Mitchell, surrounded by people who were trying to help the dying man.

Mitchell had been shot multiple times in what they said was a targeted attack, and soon died of his injuries.

In January, police issued a Canada-wide warrant for a 23-year-old Reshane Hayles-Wilson, of Mississauga.

Hayles-Woilson was arrested Monday and charged with first-degree murder. He has been remanded to appear in court on Monday, Oct. 27.

In a statement released online Tuesday, Toronto police said the investigation is ongoing. They're asking anyone with information to contact police at 416-808-7400, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-8477 (TIPS) or leave a tip on Facebook.
