A man is dead and another is in custody following a stabbing in Toronto's east end.

The incident occurred shortly before 10 p.m. on Tuesday on Oakmeadow Boulevard, a residential street in the area of Neilson Road and Military Trail.

Emergency officials who were called to the scene discovered a man in his 30s with life-threatening injuries. The man was rushed to hospital, but succumbed to his injuries.

Police said one person was in custody in connection to the case. They said the man turned himself in to police at approximately 3 a.m. on Wednesday.

Reg Spring, 31, has been charged with second-degree murder.
