HAMILTON - Hamilton police say a 53-year-old personal care worker is facing charges of sexually assaulting a disabled man in a park.
Police say a witness reported seeing a man sexually assaulting another man in a park late Sunday morning.
Investigators say the alleged victim, a 19-year-old who functions at the level of a toddler, had been in the park with his personal care worker.
The personal care worker, who was still at the home caring for the teen when police arrived, was arrested.
Benno Burchert of Hamilton is charged with sexual assault and sexual exploitation of a person with a disability.
Burchert has been employed by St. Elizabeth Health Care as a personal care worker for a number of years and investigators say they are concerned for other people he has cared for.
