BARRIE, Ont. -- A 23-year-old man has been charged after police say an officer was shoved at a house party in Barrie, Ont.

Police say it started with a noise complaint filed by neighbours around 10 p.m. last night.

Investigators say two officers went to caution the homeowner when they were met by two males in front of the home.

They say a man told the officers they weren't welcome and tried to stop one of them from walking up to the door.

Police say the officer was then pushed in the chest, causing minor injuries that sent him to hospital for treatment.

A Mount Forest man is charged with obstructing police and assaulting a peace officer. He has been released pending a court appearance.
