TORONTO - A Toronto man has been charged after apartment seekers said they were scammed out of first and last months' rent.
Police allege the man listed rental units on online classified websites Craigslist and Kijiji and showed would-be renters the apartments.
They say the man then collected two months' worth of rent after getting applicants to sign bogus lease agreements.
Dale Lyn, 36, is charged with four counts of fraud under $5,000.
Police say there may be more allegedly fraudulent leases signed for five apartments in the city.
