Toronto police have made an arrest in connection to a woman's body found wrapped in a carpet and dumped in a back alley in the Junction neighbourhood in early February.

A neighbour found the lifeless body of a 31-year-old woman in a laneway behind 583 Clendenan Ave.

Sources told CTV News that the victim lives in the area, but police have not released her identity.

Police said the body showed signs of trauma but did not consider the death a homicide.

On Thursday, police arrested Aaron Johnson, 23, and charged him with performing an indignity to a dead body.

He was scheduled to appear in court Thursday afternoon.
