A Toronto man wanted in connection with the double shooting at a North York apartment building that left one man dead and another man injured has been taken into custody and charged with murder.

Police said Daniel Nathaniel Abreha, 25, surrendered Saturday afternoon. The arrest came after police released the suspect's identity and photograph to the public.

Officers were called to the Don Valley Parvane Linkway building in the Flemingdon Park area on Thursday afternoon after shots were fired.

Police found two victims in their 20s, one of whom died at the scene. He had been shot in the head.

The other victim was taken to hospital with neck and chest wounds. He underwent emergency surgery and is expected to survive.

Abreha is charged with second-degree murder and attempted murder. He is to appear in court on Sunday.
