One male has died after being stabbed at a station along the Scarbrough RT line Friday night, Toronto police have confirmed.

It happened at Scarborough Centre Station, in the Ellesmere and McCowan roads area, shortly before 9:30 p.m.

The circumstances surrounding the incident were not immediately clear.

The victim, believed to be 18 years old, was rushed to hospital without vital signs, paramedics said.

Police confirmed that he had succumbed to his injuries a short time later.

Suspect information was not immediately provided by police.

Trains on the Scarborough RT line are currently bypassing the station as police continue to investigate.
