LONDON, Ont. - London police have made an arrest after a woman was attacked with a brick early this morning.

Police say just before 3 a.m., a 21-year-old man and two 19-year-old females were walking on Wortley Road near Victor Street when they got into an argument with an unknown male.

The male fled the scene but returned a short time later armed with a brick which he used to strike one of the women in the back of the head.

She sustained minor injuries and was transported to hospital.

Police brought the canine unit in, and a short time later arrested 21-year-old Michael Vineyard.

He has been charged with assault with a weapon and also faces a possession of marijuana charge because the officers found a small amount of pot on him when he was arrested.
