Toronto police have a person in custody and  recovered a replica weapon from a Scarborough high school following a report about one student showing a firearm to another student.

"The lockdown has been lifted. One young offender, a 15-year-old, has been taken into custody," Const. Tony Vella of the Toronto Police Service told ctvtoronto.ca.

Tuesday's incident at R.H. King Academy, located at 3800 St. Clair Ave. E., was called into police by the school's principal at 2:27 p.m.

The school has about 1,200 Grade 9 to 12 students.

"A quick arrest was made and no one was hurt. And really that's what it's about -- no one being hurt," Vella said, adding the school officials worked well with police.
