TORONTO - Free-agent goaltender Jussi Rynnas has signed a two-year NHL entry level contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The team announced it had agreed to terms with the 22-year-old Finnish player Friday.

"The Leafs feel that the addition of Jussi Rynnas bolsters the organization's depth at the goaltending position," Leafs general manager Brian Burke said in a release. "We are pleased that Jussi decided to sign with us, and we know that his level of play will be enhanced by working closely with our goaltending instructor Francois Allaire."

Rynnas is coming off a strong season with his Finnish club, Assat. Through 31 games, he posted a save percentage of .929, with a goals-against average of 2.50.
