The LCBO has pulled 10 vodka products off its shelves after finding glass particles in some bottles.

Woody's is the British-based bottler of the products named in Wednesday's recall:

  • Orangetini Orange Vodka Cooler – 4 x 330 millitres
  • Pomtini Vodka & Pomegranate Cooler – 4 x 330 ml
  • Woody’s Blackcurrant & Apple – 4 x 330 ml
  • Woody’s Light Orange – 4 x 330 ml
  • Woody’s Pink Grapefruit – 4 x 330 ml
  • Woody’s Refresher – 4 x 330 ml
  • Woody’s Light Raspberry – 4 x 330 ml
  • Woody’s Vodka Cola – 4 x 330 ml
  • Woody’s Sasparilla – 4 x 330 ml
  • Woody’s Party Pack (mixed flavours) – 12 x 330 ml

Last week, the LCBO issued a recall for Woody's brand Mexican Lime Alcoholic Vodka Beverage after the Canadian Food Inspection Service identified problems with the product in Manitoba.

LCBO spokesperson Chris Layton told CTV News that the Manitoba discovery prompted a quarantine of that particular brand and other Woody's products.

During an inspection, glass particles were found in other bottles, he said, adding there have been no reports yet of injuries in the province from consuming the beverages.

Bruce Charkow of the Bruce Ashley Group, the Ontario agent for Woody's, said only about a half-dozen bottles had glass particles in them.

To put that in proportion, about 600,000 cases of Woody's are sold in Ontario every year, he said, adding, "It's a big brand."

The company has a good idea of what caused the problem. The managing director, who flew to Canada to deal with the recall, will be back in Britain next week to initiate a fix, Charkow said.

He estimated it will be about two months before fresh product is back on LCBO shelves.
