Students of Lakeshore Collegiate in south Etobicoke were temporarily moved to the nearby Toronto Police College as police investigated a threat against the school.

Const. Craig Brister said police were called to the school at 350 Kipling Avenue at 8:38 a.m. on Friday.

Approximately 600 students were sent to the police college approximately 1.4 kilometres away.

School board officials said police were called to investigate a threat made against the school.

Police described the concern as a “security issue,” but did not elaborate on what the threat was.

Students returned to the school at 1:30 p.m. after the police found no safety concerns inside.
