Five people were taken to hospital after six vehicles and a tractor-trailer became entangled in a pileup on Kingston Road.
The severity of injuries is not known.
Drivers were advised to avoid the area of Kingston and Bellamy Roads in Scarborough after the seven-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 10:15 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Kingston Road remains closed in both directions between Mason Road and Bellamy Road.
Police told CTV Toronto that 4 ambulances were called to the scene of the accident.
