PORT HOPE, Ont. - A 50-year-old Kingston man has died after his plane crashed in Port Hope.

Provincial police say the one-person aircraft crashed into the woods between Brown's Road and County Road 28 on Wednesday morning.

Police and the Port Hope Fire Department located the plane a short time after the crash and the pilot was airlifted to St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto.

He was pronounced dead in hospital.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada has been notified and will be conducting an investigation.
