Jason Priestley helps Tim Hortons pare down 'Duelling Donuts' list to eight

OAKVILLE, Ont. - Jason Priestley is in Oakville, Ont. today, helping Tim Hortons whittle down a list of doughnut flavours dreamed up by the Canadian public.

The Vancouver-born actor will help the restaurant chain choose an eight-pastry short list from one month's worth of entries from their "Duelling Donuts" contest.

Priestley appeared in an episode of the sitcom "How I Met Your Mother" last February where he claimed he had invented "The Priestley," a strawberry-vanilla doughnut with a chocolate Timbit nestled inside.

Tim Hortons then made a mock batch of the fictional pastry.

Priestley is best known for his role on "Beverly Hills, 90210."

The contest winner will receive a $10,000 grand prize.
