A multi-vehicle crash has claimed a life on Highway 401.
OPP say the crash occurred just before 9 a.m. Saturday morning along a stretch of the eastbound highway lanes in Chatham, near Victoria Road.
One person died as a result of the crash, another was trapped in a vehicle for more than an hour.
All eastbound lanes were closed in the aftermath.
Police said it would be several hours before the road was cleared.
