A fatal, head-on collision has left the northbound lanes of Highway 410 shut down between Steeles Avenue East and Clark Boulevard in Brampton.
The OPP's Const. Graham Williamson said the 3:49 p.m. Wednesday collision left another person with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. They have been taken to a local hospital.
A southbound black Acura Integra crossed the grassy centre median and struck the other vehicle, a northbound grey Dodge Durango, he said.
"The driver of the Integra has been pronounced at scene," Williamson said.
CTV News helicopter footage from the scene shows massive traffic backups in the area of the collision.
OPP officers are directing traffic off the 410 at Steeles Avenue and Highway 407, Williamson said.
The scene won't likely be cleared until about 9 p.m., he said.
