HAMILTON, Ont. - Hamilton police say an officer with the force is facing charges following a major drug bust in Ontario.

It's alleged the officer leaked information from a police computer to the main target of the 18-month investigation dubbed Project Newton.

Twenty-one people have been arrested and charged after multiple raids that involved several jurisdictions.

About 175 officers raided 23 homes and businesses in the Hamilton, Halton, Niagara, Peel, Haldimand County and Sudbury areas Wednesday.

Houses, vehicles and $140,000 in cash were seized, along with drugs including cocaine, ecstasy, methamphetamine and anabolic steroids.

Const. Andrew Pauls is charged with breach of trust and police say he is already suspended.
