KAWARTHA LAKES, Ont. - Provincial police say seven residents of the Greater Toronto Area have been charged after a large grow-op was found in the city of Kawartha Lakes.

Police went to a property on Waite Road and arrested a number of people on Wednesday.

They also seized about 2,500 marijuana plants.

Five Toronto residents and two Markham residents are charged.

Charges include production of marijuana, possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking and possession of stolen property.

Charged are Yong Chen, 30, Liu Dacheng, 61, Mengxu Lin, 42, Yong Su, 38, and Ming Jian Zju, 22, all of Toronto and Feng Yang, 39, and Longquan Jin, 49, both of Markham.
