ZEPHYR, Ont. - Six adults and a youth face drug-related charged after police uprooted a marijuana growing operation in Zephyr, Ont., northwest of Uxbridge.

Police from Durham Region and York Region searched a house on Wednesday evening and discovered more than 800 plants drying in the basement.

Another 16 kilograms of harvested marijuana was found in a freezer and a further 420 plants were found in a building outside the house.

In addition, two unsafely-stored firearms were found along with an all-terrain vehicle which police say was reported stolen from York Region in 2003.

Arrested and charged were James Dillon, 58; Donnette Dillon, 54; Luke Dillon, 29; Trina Dillon, 28; Mathew Dillon, 29; Rosaleen Weir, 25 and a 17-year-old youth. All are residents of Zephyr.

A one-and-a-half month old baby found in the home was handed over to the care of the Children's Aid Society.
