Another person close to alleged gangster Mark Moore has been arrested by police, as the fallout from an investigation into a spate of Toronto street crime continues to take shape.

Toronto police said they arrested Moore's girlfriend on Thursday, accusing her of misleading police, hiding evidence and threatening two witnesses.

Tassandra Whyte, 26, of Toronto, has been charged with obstructing a peace officer, two counts of conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, accessory after the fact to murder and threatening death.

She is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, November 11, 2011.

The accusations come nearly two weeks after Moore's mother was arrested for allegedly destroying evidence in the homicide and robbery investigation.

Moore was charged with several violent crimes, including four counts of first-degree murder, in an investigation connecting almost a dozen unsolved cases from last year.

The secretive "Project Summit" investigation linked the deaths of four Toronto men – Jahmeel Spence, Courtney Facey, Mike James and Carl Cole – to a series of robberies and shootings.

Three other men were also arrested as part of "Project Summit" and have been charged in connection to an alleged firearms and ammunition trafficking ring.
