A young girl was rushed to hospital with head injuries after she was struck by a car outside a Burlington elementary school on Wednesday.
A crossing guard was also struck in the accident and suffered minor injuries, police said.
The accident occurred shortly before 4 p.m. outside Maplehurst Public School on Plains Road West.
The girl, believed to be four or five years old, was rushed to McMaster Children’s Hospital.
Police said the investigation is ongoing and the driver remained on scene following the accident.
