A three-year-old girl has died after being pulled from a pool in the city's north end.

The girl was found in a pool at 193 Melrose Avenue, near Avenue Road and Woburn Avenue, around 2 p.m.

Crews attempted to revive her at the scene, but she had to be rushed to Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children.

Later, the girl was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Several drownings have taken place in the Toronto area since June.

On July 15, the body of a 4-year-old boy was pulled from the Otonabee River near Peterborough. The boy had been swimming with friends and family when the current carried him away.

On July 10, a 3-year-old boy was pulled from a pond near his parent's Oshawa-area home.

The boy was rushed to Sick Kid's hospital. His condition is not known

The body of a 13-year-old Mississauga boy was recovered from the Trent River on July 5. The boy drowned after falling out of a motor boat that hit a wave.

On June 30, two 14-year-old boys were pulled from the pool of a Toronto condominium near McCowan Road and Finch Avenue.

One boy died immediately; the second boy was later pronounced dead.

On June 29, a father of two died trying to save his 5-year-old son from drowning in Lake Huron.

Andrew Rucinskas, 48, was walking along a beach with his son, Douglas, and his 8-year-old daughter when the boy, who had been walking knee deep in the water, was swept away by a current. Rucinskas swam after the boy and called to his daughter to run for help.

The bodies of the father and son were later recovered.
