The second man to die as a result of a shooting in Toronto's Eaton Centre on June 2 was laid to rest Friday.

Nixon Nirmalendran, 22, died Monday evening as a result of the injuries he sustained when he was shot on the evening of June 2 in the mall's busy food court.

His funeral took place Friday at an east-end mosque.

Nirmalendran leaves behind his girlfriend, parents and two younger brothers.

Police on bicycles watched as mourners filed out of the mosque, near Donlands Avenue and Danforth Avenue.

Nirmalendran was the second victim to die as a result of the shooting that injured five others.

A pregnant woman was also injured as patrons ran from the site.

Ahmed Hassan, 24, was the first victim killed. Police believe Hassan was the intended target of the attack.

Police said they believed Nirmalendran was a member of the same gang as Hassan and the accused shooter.

Christopher Husbands, 23, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, five counts of attempted murder and criminal negligence causing bodily harm.

Husbands remains in jail. His next court appearance will take place August 15.
