Police are searching for four suspects after a jewelry store in Oshawa was robbed, a woman was pistol whipped and two cars were stolen Tuesday afternoon.

Four men walked into Q’s Royal Jewellery, located at Bond and Simcoe streets, around 2:40 p.m., according to police. Officers said one of the men was armed with a gun and used it to strike a woman who worked at the store.

A quantity of jewelry was taken before the suspects fled in a stolen black Honda Civic, police said. It is alleged the suspects then crashed the car nearby and stole a grey Honda Civic.

The grey Honda was last seen travelling west onto Highway 401.

The woman was taken to hospital where she was treated and released.

The investigation is ongoing as officers search for the suspects. The first is described as a black man in his 20s who is around six feet tall. He was wearing dark clothing and his face was covered.

Police have vague descriptions for the other three male suspects.
