An Oakville teenager, his mother and two brothers have been charged in connection with the stabbing death of a Brampton man during a house party on the weekend.

Peel police have charged 18-year-old Sujenthan Ramanathan with second-degree murder. His mother Kohilavanee Ramanathan, 46, his brother Arjenthan, 20, and his twin brother Sajenthan have all been charged with being accessories after the fact. They were to appear in court on Tuesday.

Amrinder Singh Atwal, 19, was stabbed during a fight involving more than two dozen teens attending a house party on Culture Crescent, near Williams Parkway and Chinguacousy Road, at about 10:15 Saturday night.

The dispute spilled onto the quiet street and erupted into a full out brawl involving combatants armed with broken beer bottles. Neighbours watched the event in horror.

Atwal was pronounced dead at hospital. An autopsy concluded he died from a stab wound to the torso.

Three other partygoers were taken to hospital but suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Police said the altercation stemmed from a long-running dispute between certain individuals.
