York Regional Police have made four arrests and laid 65 charges in connection with a spate of 38 break and enters across the GTA.

The investigation, dubbed Project Copyright, executed a series of search warrants to recover “a significant amount” of stolen property, including watches, jewelry and iPods, police said in a Monday press release.

Police say they have arrested four people after a series of 38 break-ins around the Greater Toronto Area.

Police allege the suspects worked together, knocking on doors across the GTA during daytime hours. When there was no answer, police say the suspects would break in and search the properties for jewelry.

Investigators, who have been on the case since April 20, believe the suspects later sold the items for cash.

York Regional Police launched a website Tuesday to showcase the stolen property in hopes of returning pieces to their owners. The stolen items include several designer watches, gold necklaces and bracelets, iPods, iPhones and several pieces of costume jewelry.

Police are also urging locals to safeguard their homes against daytime break and enters by locking doors, storing valuables in safety deposit boxes, and installing deadbolts.

Four suspects have been charged in connection with the case: Jordan Saccucci, 25, of Mississauga; Maurice Beckles, 32, of Brampton; Harun Murad, 32, of Mississauga; and Jamaar Taylor, 24, of Toronto.

Anyone who recognizes the items or has further information should contact the York Regional Police Investigation Bureau at 1-866-876-5432 ext. 7252.
