Police are looking for a man who has been disguising himself as an officer and stealing purses and cell phones from downtown bars and clubs.
The suspect has been using imitation police equipment to identify himself as an officer and gain entry into establishments in the Entertainment District.
The culprit targets women who leave their personal belongings unattended, police said.
Those who regularly attend clubs and bars are being urged to carefully watch their possessions and be on the lookout for anyone who may be touching or sorting through their belongings.
Police are also warning club and bar owners to pay special attention to people pretending to be officers.
