Popular Toronto radio personality Erin Davis told her fans in a touching blog post this week she is taking a break from her website following the sudden death of her 24-year-old daughter.

Lauren Davis, who was an Ottawa-based radio journalist with CFRA, passed away in her sleep earlier this week. According to her mother's blog post, she went to bed Sunday night and didn't wake up the following day.

"Our dearest, sweetest, kindest daughter Lauren went to sleep Sunday night – her first Mother's Day – and did not wake up to her baby's cries and husband's nudges on Monday," Davis said in her post. "We will search forever to find answers to something that is so unspeakably wrong that none will ever suffice.:

Davis' cause of death is not yet known. She leaves behind Colin, her seven-month-old son, and Phil Shirakawa, her husband who is also a producer at CFRA. Her mother said the death has left her reeling with pain, and she will be taking an indefinite break from her blog.

"I feel I should write you a good-bye for now, as I will be taking leave of this space until my heart no longer feels filled to bursting with sadness, tears and the awful pain of being ripped away from my flesh, my own," the CHFI host wrote.

She also thanked her fans for their support, and promised to reach out to some of them when she is ready.

"I'll be in touch when I can. And thank you again. (Lauren) was our world."

CFRA is a division of Bell Media.

Following Davis' sudden death, Bell Media Ottawa regional vice president Richard Gray released a statement extending his sympathies to her family.

"We are deeply saddened by the loss of Lauren, who had just become a mom in the last year." Gray said. "Lauren will be deeply missed by her family and the many colleagues here who knew her so well,"
