A man was shot early Sunday morning in the Islington Avenue and Steeles Avenue West area.
Police are remaining tight-lipped about the murder, which is the city's 57th of the year.
Reports say the shooting happened on San Pietro Way, one block east of Islington Avenue.
The 24-year-old victim died in hospital and has not yet been identified.
A police officer who did not want to be quoted told ctvtoronto.ca drugs may be the motive.
CTV Toronto's Jim Junkin reported that the victim may have been lured out of a car or a home onto the road, where he was then gunned down.
Police are still conducting interviews and trying to determine how many suspects could be involved.
