A male driver is facing charges after he allegedly struck an officer in the parking lot of a Mississauga banquet hall and then attempted to flee the scene on foot.
Police say the driver was outside the banquet hall near Kennedy Road and Courtneypark Drive shortly before midnight when he struck a Peel Regional Police officer with his vehicle.
At that point police say the driver attempted to flee the scene but was apprehended a short distance away.
The officer was transported to a hospital with minor injuries.
Police have not revealed what charges the driver is facing.
