KINGSTON, Ont. - A man is being treated for two serious stab wounds after he picked up a hitchhiker early this morning in Kingston, Ont.

Police say when the driver stopped to let the hitchhiker out of the car, the man stabbed him in the neck and face.

The assailant then ran off.

Police say the injures are not critical.

A search turned up no sign of the attacker.

Police say the incident is a reminder that it can be dangerous to give strangers a ride.
