A male driver is dead after a crash north of Toronto involving a transport truck and a car on Highway 400.
OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt says the near-zero visibility was a contributing factor to the collision. It happened near Bradford, Ont., near Highway 88, on Tuesday night.
Schmidt says Hwy. 400 has been shut down at Hwy. 88 as police investigate the crash.
Meanwhile, Environment Canada has issued a number of snow squall warnings and watches across southern Ontario.
"Blizzard-like conditions may be expected in exposed areas," the national weather agency said in a statement Tuesday night.
"Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow."
