CALABOGIE, Ont. -- Human remains found last weekend in Calabogie are those of an Ottawa man who had been missing since June.

Provincial police say the death of Fouad Nayel, 28, is now being treated as a homicide.

Nayel was last seen on June 17 by his friends and family. He had told them he was going to Petawawa.

In July, Ottawa police and the OPP conducted a search in the Calabogie area but it did not yield any results.

His body was found in a wooded area of Calabogie, about 100 kilometres west of Ottawa, on Sunday afternoon by a passersby.
