Cyclist injured in hit-and-run on Leslie Street

Leslie Street is open to traffic south of Highway 401, after the road was closed following a hit-and-run late Monday night.

A cyclist in the northbound curb lane of Leslie Street, south of Highway 401, was struck from behind by a vehicle at approximately 11 p.m.

The vehicle then fled the scene, police said.

Toronto EMS confirmed to CTV Toronto that a male cyclist in his 50s was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.

A stretch of Leslie Street was closed to traffic in both directions until 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, as police investigated.
