A man riding a power-assisted bicycle has died after he was hit by a car in the city’s northwest Thursday.

Paramedics said they responded to a call near Rockcliffe Boulevard and Alliance Avenue at approximately 4:30 p.m.

Police said in a release that a man was riding a power-assisted bicycle north on Rockcliffe Boulevard when he was hit by a 26-year-old woman driving a Toyota Camry westbound on Alliance Avenue.

The cyclist was taken to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Two people in the car were taken to hospital with minor injuries, paramedics said.

Police released a picture of the bicycle Thursday night and asked anyone who has information about the bicycle, or the collision, to come forward.
