OWEN SOUND, Ont. - The driver who was behind the wheel of one of the cars involved in a fatal collision is facing criminal charges.

Three people died in the two-vehicle crash north of Owen Sound, Ont. on Sunday morning.

Grey County police say a southbound Nissan was passing vehicles on Highway 6, near Shallow Lake, Ont., when it collided with a northbound Toyota.

Among the three victims were the driver of the Toyota, 18-year-old Mark Blake, and his mother, Maureen Blake, 52, of Hamilton.

A passenger in the Nissan, Daniel Caldwell, 19, of Bowmanville, Ont., also died.

Kiefer Stevens, 20, of Brooklin, Ont., is charged with three counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death.

Stevens sustained serious injuries in the crash and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 23.
