A Toronto couple managed to call police for help after a couple of suspects broke into their home Sunday night.

Police say they received a call just before 8 p.m. When they arrived at a home on Westmount Avenue, near Dufferin Street and St. Clair Avenue, the couple was inside the house but the suspects had fled the scene.

A male suspect was arrested a short distance from the home. Police also recovered a knife that was thrown onto the home's front lawn. Other items were also found on the driveway, police said.

The couple was unharmed, though authorities say there was an attempted sexual assault.

Police are still looking for a second suspect.
