Toronto police say they have identified a man who accessed a patient's personal file at Humber River Regional Hospital.

Authorities say they have not laid any charges against him.

Officials were on alert after a man visited the hospital on Wednesday and entered a patient's room, asking them for personal information. He then said he was a family member of the patient in order to access the person's hospital file.

Investigators publicly released a description of the man, hoping to identify him and the reason he was trying to access the patient's personal information.

The man was identified Thursday morning.
