A construction worker has died after falling more than 20 storeys from a downtown building on Monday.

EMS says the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident happened at around 2:30 p.m. in the Bay Street and Bloor Street West area.

Police say the man, believed to be in his 20s, fell from the 26th storey of the building onto a rooftop on the fourth floor. The building was under construction at the time of the incident.

Both the coroner and an official from the Ministry of Labour have been called to the scene.
