Toronto Police say the man shot to death at a Midland Avenue car wash had ordered his suspected killer to leave just before the man allegedly opened fire on him.

They have identified the victim as Emad Rozik, 49, of Toronto.

An autopsy will be performed today, police said in a news release.

Ted Cowling, who operates a nearby business, told CTV Toronto on Tuesday that two of his workers heard the shots. "That's why we seen the commotion going on," he said.

The shooting occurred around 1 p.m. yesterday. Paramedics worked on Rozik at the scene and transported him to Scarborough General Hospital, but he couldn't be saved.

Bystanders didn't get enough of a look at the suspect to give police a good description.

However, "We're very confident that the male responsible for this has been caught on numerous videos inside the car wash," Det. Sheila Ogg of the homicide squad told CTV Toronto.

Police describe the suspect as 6'4", black and with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap with some type of insignia, a black t-shirt with a baggy white t-shirt over top that went down to his hips. He also wore black denim shorts worn below the knees, and had on black-and-white high-top running shoes.
