The union representing library workers and the city have reached a tentative agreement, the union announced Wednesday evening.

The union is not releasing any details of the new agreement unless members approve it.

Voting for the new contract will take place on Thursday between 1 and 8 p.m. at the Prince Weston Hotel on York Mills Road, the union said.

Members of CUPE Local 4948 have been on strike since March 19 and city libraries have been closed during that time.

The union has approximately 2,300 members.

The announcement came as officials began counting votes cast by the inside workers union members, who are also considering a new contract.
