Child falls from 5th floor balcony

A child is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after falling from a fifth-floor balcony in Scarborough Friday afternoon.

Police said the four-year-old child fell from the balcony, near Markham Road and Brimorton Drive, around 2 p.m.

The child remains in The Hospital for Sick Children with life-threatening injuries.

Police said the fall appears to be an accident.
