Charges against two suspects have been upgraded after a man’s body was found in a ditch near McCowan Road and Highway 401 in July.
Hussain Saeed, 20, of Toronto, and Zishan Malik, 20, of Toronto, were charged with first-degree murder, police said in a release Friday.
Both men previously faced second-degree murder charges.
The charges come after the Nirosan Thillainathan, 22, was found suffering from stab wounds, just off McCowan road around 2 a.m. on July 22.
Thillainathan died of his injuries.
Police said that there were several confrontations in the area before Thillainathan’s body was found in the ditch, including one at a gas station just up the road.
